The Gingerbread House!

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Christmas! Mine isn't over just yet, as I have to go and visit my family on the coast at New Year. Looking forward to that! ;)

As promised a picture of my Gingerbread house. It's not as fancy, or finely finished as the ones I showed earlier in this blog,  and it does look a little like the Christmas bling houses that are covered in lights and upet the neighbours, but it has stayed up! The windows area fruity flavoured stained glass, the roof is tiled in Jazzles and there is a wobbly set of columns beside the door (Dolly Mixture order).

  2. Hi Andy,

Oh sooo cute!!! I don't think it will last too long once you arrive at your Families house!! I love the little tree and snow man out the front!!

I thought of you on Christmas day as my Niece's made a ginger bread house which was gorgeous. I didn't get to eat any though as Christmas day unfolded in a way you wouldn't imagine. I will be posting about it soon.

Have a wonderful time on the Coast with your family.

  8. Hello Andy!
Great "Gingerbread House"! I tried to do one many years ago and ate more royal icing than I used on the house. It fell apart.........congratulations on yours!
Love your "Georgian House" by the way..
    Warm wishes from Ray

  9. Hi Ray, I know what you mean about the icing, I bought extra sweets to decorate the house, because I just knew I would end up eating a lot of them before they ever made it onto the house!

Pleased you like my Georgian house, it's far from perfect, but I enjoyed making it, and decorating it it even more so. It's not bad for a first attempt. I hope you'll like my new house, my current project, which I will be posting news of soon. quite different from the Georgian house, more rustic!

I have been looking at your new blog today, your house is AMAZING! It's beautiful! as are your Christmas decorations! looking forward to seeing more details of your dolls house!

    Regards
