The Library

The library is in the basement of the Georgian house, and is actually one of the largest rooms in the house. I chose a warm earthy red for this room from Farrow and Ball. The library table was made by Dovetail miniatures. The fireplace and mirror above are both by Lucy Askew. As you can see I have started to fill the book shelves, but have long way to go! Some of the books are beautifully bound reproductions with hand stitched pages from Ellie De Lacy and I would really encourage you to take a look at her work at the next big dolls house exhibition, or take a look at her website.

Thanks for your message, and the kind comments! I have enjoyed looking at your projects too, very nice collection you have there, and some interesting ideas for dollhouses too. I'll get some more pictures on here soon, including some from a new dollhouse I have been working on!

    Regards

  3. What a gorgeous room! I love the wall color and used it in my own 'RL' home. I think I have the same table in the Hall of my own Merriman Park. I can't wait to look at your other rooms...

  5. Thanks once again John! I can't remember the exact name of the paint colour used, I have some left in my workshop, so I'll check, I have a funny feeling it's called 'bookroom red' which would make sense LOL! Yes, I think the table is the same as the one in your hall. The bust is of Nelson, the same guy that's on the column in London!

  6. Hi Giac, I'm pleased that you're enjoying my blog, and thanks for your encouragement!! Looking back it was perhaps a little ambitious for a first attempt, it might have been a good idea to try something smaller first, but in for a penny, in for a pound as they say!! You Victorian house is very impressive, I'm looking forward to seeing more of that too!
